Trevor Bryant's career in the retail and entertainment industries began in 1980 with Walt Disney Imagineering. Over the next fourteen years Trevor held executive roles creating and constructing EPCOT Center, Pleasure Island, Disney-MGM Studio Tour and Euro-Disneyland. After seven years with Imagineering’s concept and design teams Trevor founded the Research and Development Division of the Walt Disney Company. As Executive Director of R&D, Trevor was responsible for maintaining the dynamic of the engineering and creative teams on such projects as Indiana Jones Adventure, Alien Encounter, and Tower of Terror.
From 1994 –2000 Trevor Bryant was Senior Vice President for Sony Development in Burbank, California. Trevor came to Sony Development with the charter of designing Sony branded retail and location based entertainment. This included a complete makeover of Sony branded retail stores. Signature to this effort was the creation of Sony Style stores in New York, San Francisco, Berlin and Malaysia. Trevor was also responsible for the reinvention of the Sony Wonder Technology Lab, an interactive museum at Sony’s headquarters in New York City, the Music Box attraction at Sony’s headquarters in Berlin and the creation of location based entertainment centers, Metreon in San Francisco and Mediage in Tokyo.
In his executive role at Sony Trevor managed the creative relationship between Sony Development and its retail development partners. In the course of this function Trevor created the concept for Microsoft's first and only branded store, MicrosoftSF and began design development for the Discovery Channel Destination stores. Trevor also enabled business opportunities with the Beatles, EDS, Lincoln Mercury, Hear Music and Starbucks.
Since leaving Sony, Trevor has kept up with his network of business associates by consulting on various educational, museum and business development projects. These have included the long range strategic planning and exhibit design for the Zimmer Children’s Museum in Los Angeles, exhibit design for the Illinois Holocaust Museum in Chicago, the staging and planning of major fund raising events for youTHink and the city of Beverly Hills, design services for systems provider Gadget Alliance and most recently, creative management of MGM Studio World in Shanghai, China.
